The liquor license of a popular bar in Sheboygan may end after its owner was arrested for his 4th OWI.
This week, the City’s Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety Committee held a quasi-judicial hearing regarding the liquor license for Boheme, operated by Hans C. Graf.
This hearing came in response to Graf being arrested on January 10th for Operating While Intoxicated, his 4th offense, and Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration.
The results of that hearing found that Graf “is not a fit individual to enforce the laws pertaining to safe alcohol service, preventing impaired driving, and compliance with the laws of the State of Wisconsin and City of Sheboygan.”
The Committee further stated that he is a “habitual law offender and is not qualified to hold a license.”
Following these determinations, the group unanimously voted not to renew Graf and Boheme’s liquor license.
The final decision on the liquor license will now be made by Sheboygan’s Common Council at a later date.
Graf has pleaded not guilty to the charges he faces and will be back in Sheboygan County court for a status conference on Tuesday (June 16th).
