Milwaukee is successfully prosecuting more first-offense reckless driving cases.
City officials announced convictions jumped to 84 percent last year, compared to just 15 percent in 2023.
Leaders mentioned that new enforcement policy changes enacted in 2024 have led to better prosecution outcomes.
There was also a drop in reduced or amended reckless driving charges, going from 65 percent in 2023 to zero last year.
City attorney Evan Goyke said the changes are working and “the numbers are the proof.”
