
Day one of the WIAA State Boys Golf Tournament is in the books, and two local golfers are within striking distance of the top spot in Division 3.
Mishicot’s Dane Moore shot a 79 at University Ridge in Madison yesterday, leaving him in 8th place overall, while teammate Karson Kowalski is in 10th place, one stroke behind Moore.
Matti Heikkinen and Elijah Harding, both from Prentice High School, are tied for first place with a score of 73 after 18 holes.
As a team, the Indians are in 5th place out of eight teams, with a 59 over par 347 on day one.
The Prentice Buccaneers are firmly planted in the top spot with a 26-over-par 314, six strokes ahead of second-place Kohler.
The Indians teed off at 8:10 this morning as they finish up their first state golf appearance in school history.
