Officials in Sheboygan are encouraging the public to learn more about a proposed project in the city.
The City of Sheboygan will be hosting an open house tomorrow (June 10th) to discuss the proposed Movable Pedestrian Bridge.
The open house will run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Uptown Social, located at 1817 North 8th Street.
The bridge, if constructed, would connect Virginia Avenue and South Pier Drive, crossing over the Sheboygan River.
The City explains that the bridge would provide better access to both the river and the lakefront than is currently available for pedestrians and cyclists alike.
On this event, the City also noted, “The purpose of this open house is to share the preferred bridge alternative, answer public questions, and collect feedback on the project. Members of the project team will be at the Open House to provide information and answer questions.”
Funding for Sheboygan’s Movable Pedestrian Bridge was made possible thanks to a Federal Raise grant awarded to the City under the Biden Administration as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Those interested in learning more about the project, hearing from designers, or asking questions are encouraged to attend and share their thoughts.
