The Manitowoc Police Department is celebrating another successful Click It or Ticket campaign.
The Department has revealed that, between May 18th and 31st, 252 traffic stops were conducted for various violations, including seat belt violations.
52 citations and 199 written warnings were issued by Manitowoc Police Officers during these stops, which the department said, “provided our patrol officers an opportunity to educate drivers and passengers on the importance of seat belt usage.”
Lt. Bruce Tuma also said, “The City of Manitowoc Police Department strives to help keep our fellow community members safe and reminds drivers of the importance of buckling up. Issuing tickets was not our goal, but it was a way to remind people of the importance of the simple action that can save a life.”
