The world’s premier sprint car series will be returning to the area this weekend.
The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars will be hitting the Plymouth Dirt Track at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds tomorrow (June 6th) for the Cheese Town Showdown, with the pits opening at 2:00 p.m.
The grandstands will then open at 4:00 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:30 p.m., and the racing will follow.
Joining the World of Outlaws drivers will be the Plymouth Dirt Track Racing 360 Sprint Car division, promising a night jam-packed with on-track action.
The Cheese Town Showdown feature winner will again receive the $12,000 purse.
Last year’s winner, Rico Abreu, took home the money after leading all 35 laps of the feature, beating out second-place finisher Michael Kofoid.
Tomorrow’s stop in Plymouth marks the fourth running of the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Series at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds and the second in the last two years.
Last year’s event was a complete sell-out, and those looking to catch the action are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time by visiting worldofoutlaws.com.
After Plymouth, the World of Outlaws will head to Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, and Angel Park Speedway for the Ted Johnson Memorial Race in honor of the Madison native and founder of the World of Outlaws series.
