A Sheboygan-based construction company has received funding from the State of Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) has awarded over $2 million in Fast Forward training grants to 17 employers, including Quasius Construction.
In total, Quasius will receive $86,728 of the $2,412,209 awarded to reimburse companies for the cost of occupational training for unemployed, underemployed, and current workers across the state.
Specifically for Quasius, this funding will offset the cost for hands-on and hybrid delivery training to 31 current employees in partnership with technical colleges, the Wisconsin Carpenters Union, and other training providers.
Upon completing this vital training, these Quasius trainees could receive an hourly wage increase of at least 25 cents.
On what this grant funding means to countless industries across the state, DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek said, “Investments through Wisconsin Fast Forward grants are proven to expand the state’s talent pipeline and connect unemployed and other workers with in-demand skills that are needed for family-supporting jobs.”
Since its launch in 2013, the Wisconsin Fast Forward grants have provided more than $57 million to train over 31,000 workers.
