As WOMT continues its 100th anniversary celebration, a collection of vintage radios has arrived at its third location of the year.
WOMT has partnered with Steve Kanter to curate the display, which is now available for viewing at the Manitowoc County Historical Society.
It was first on display at the Hungry for History event, hosted by the Historical Society, before moving just up the road to the Manitowoc Public Library.
Now, guests at the Pinecrest Historical Village can see a wide array of radios of all shapes and sizes, restored by Kanter, who explained that they “come from a time when it was the center of the household.”
Seehafer Broadcasting Vice President Terry Stevenson said that Kanter’s collection “offers a powerful visual representation of radio’s presence over the last 100 years, and we’re grateful for his enthusiasm in helping us celebrate.”
The collection will stay at the Historical Society through the summer season and will conclude its journey later this year at the Rahr West Art Museum as part of their Christmas at the Mansion series.
