The Sheboygan Area School District is saying goodbye to a group of educators with nearly a millennium of service between them.
The district has shared that, in total, 45 members of the district have retired after the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year.
Once again this year, each retiree was gifted with a personalized, handcrafted mug made by art students from Sheboygan North and South High Schools.
On what the personalized mugs represent, the district stated, βThe personalized keepsakes serve as a small token of appreciation for the dedication, care, and commitment retirees have shown throughout their careers. Each mug reflects not only student creativity but also the gratitude of a district community recognizing the difference these staff members have made.β
These retirees have given a combined 955 years of service to the district, with Jami Hintz, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, noting, βThis gift is a meaningful way to honor the incredible contributions of our retirees. Their impact on students and our schools will continue long after their retirement.β
Retiring members of the staff were formally recognized and presented their mugs at the SASD Board of Education meeting last week.
