A local State Assemblyman is reflecting on his first term in office.
Last month, the Wisconsin Legislature’s 2025-2026 session came to an end, and 26th District Assemblyman Joe Sheehan of Sheboygan commented on his experience.
First and foremost, Rep. Sheehan noted, “I am honored to serve the people of District 26. We have taken some great strides, but still have a ways to go.”
Sheboygan’s representative went on to say that he has taken great pride in the over 500 bills he and his fellow democrats have introduced, which aim to improve the lives and reduce the costs for Wisconsinites.
Specifically, Rep. Sheehan was the lead author or co-sponsor of bills including AB-1100, which lowers the cost of over-the-counter drugs, AB-1223, a loan forgiveness program for teachers, firefighters, and police officers, and AB-48, which provides healthy school meals for all children.
To close, reflecting on his first term, Rep. Sheehan added, “Despite all of these bills failing in the Legislature this session, I was proud to have worked with my colleagues across the aisle to pass significant bipartisan legislation for our constituents…I hope to continue serving the Sheboygan area and bring about policies that help make my constituents’ lives a little bit better.”
