Wisconsin’s Sixth District congressman is asking middle and high school students for their app creativity.
The Congressional App Challenge is open again for another year.
Congressman Glenn Grothman says it’s a chance for students to build an original app on any platform, using any programming language, including Python, JavaScript, and beyond. Students can choose any interest for the app, but it must be functional, original, and fully their own work.
A district winner will be selected by a panel of judges, and the winning app will be featured on the national Congressional Art Contest website.
For the past decade, the challenge has grown into one of the nation’s largest youth coding initiatives, inspiring tens of thousands of students to build an app.
Last year’s winner in Rep. Grothman’s District was Neenah High School student Clayton Walters, who built an app for gardeners to examine invasive and native plants and see future native garden layouts.
Submissions are due by October 26th. Students can register at congressionalappchallenge.us.
