
An Appleton teen has been arrested in connection with a fatal crash last month.
The Appleton Police Department has announced that 18-year-old Giovanni Cadavid was taken into custody for his role in the crash that occurred on April 9th at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Meade Street.
Cadavid, who was 17 at the time of the crash, was said to be driving under the influence of alcohol when he failed to stop at a red light.
He then struck a car containing Alan and Margaret Hopfensperger, both of whom have since passed away.
Cadavid is being held on charges of Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle, Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle with Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, and two counts each of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle and Homicide by Use of a Vehicle with Prohibited Alcohol Content.
