A Sheboygan County-based robotics startup is preparing for a fight.
Grabot.Tech, founded by Sheboygan’s own Ben Davidson, is set to compete in BattleBot’s Creature Combat II, one of the world’s largest robot combat events, on October 31st in Las Vegas.
What started as a hobby for Davidson has grown into a company focused on designing robotic systems that can eventually scale into industrial, commercial, and entertainment applications.
Regarding Grabot.Tech and its evolution, Davidson noted, “Most of this started as a hobby in my basement. But over time, the capabilities of these machines have really started to improve. The same robotics platform can potentially scale from toy-sized applications to industrial construction-sized machines.”
This won’t be the first fight for Davidson and his team, however, as they previously competed in BattleBots back in 2020.
He also added, “Win or lose, getting to compete alongside some of my childhood heroes is incredibly exciting.”
Along the way, Accelerate Sheboygan County and the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation have been assisting those at Grabot.Tech to help improve marketing, business strategies, and more.
