The Manitowoc Public School District is supporting Mental Health and Wellness Month.
The district is inviting students, families, staff, and community members to attend a Community Walk and Resource Fair next Tuesday (May 26th) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Ron Rubick Field.
MPSD Community Connections Team Member Lynette Simonar noted that the goal is to continue creating a community where mental health is openly supported and prioritized.
The Community Walk and Resource Fair features wellness activities, raffle prizes, and opportunities for families to connect with local support services.
Free yoga will also be provided by Waves at 5:15 p.m.
Other agencies participating include the Above and Beyond Children’s Museum, InCourage, the Manitowoc Police Department, Painting Pathways, Survivors of Suicide Loss-Manitowoc County, and others.
The MPSD is also supporting students’ mental health by launching a new Mental Health and Wellness Innovation Grant, funded by supporters of the fair.
Grant applications are open through June 1st.
Recipients will be notified if they have one by August 1st.
Community members interested in volunteering or donating raffle items can contact Simonar at 920-686-4737 or by emailing simonarl@mpsd.school.
