A battle of two powerhouse softball teams was defined by a big 6th inning.
Random Lake entered their matchup with Lomira at 15-4, and a perfect 8-0 in the Big East South.
Lomira has been equally as dominant, entering the game at 20-3, and it showed as the host Lions took down the Rams 8-3.
It was a close matchup through 5 innings, as the Lions scored a run in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-2 lead into the final two frames, but that is when it all fell apart for the Rams.
Lomira would plate 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th, and hold on in the 7th to secure the win.
The Rams’ offensive attack was led by two Juniors, Ava Gaggett and Danika Eberhardt, who combined for 4 of their team’s 6 hits and 3 RBI.
Daggett also went the distance on the mound, hurling 9 punchouts in the loss. Despite their dominance so far, the Rams have now lost two in a row and have another tough road test tonight.
They will travel to Plymouth to take on a 20-3 Panther squad on a six-game win streak.
