The Manitowoc Unit of Fish and Game is calling their Hog Wild Meat Raffle a huge success, despite the sudden storm.
The organization welcomed many from the community to Tapped on the Lakeshore for the first annual meat raffle on Sunday.
While the storm caused the Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck to “batten down the hatches” and close temporarily, and the lights to go out, the energy from the people in the building never faltered.
Over $4,000 was raised to support future activities in conservation for the Manitowoc Unit, while one lucky attendee won the grand prize, half of a hog donated by Sundown Farms with processing by Newton Meats, paid for by Leede Research.
In fact, the reaction to the event was so strong that the club is already planning the Second Annual Hog-Wild Meat Raffle for 2027.
