Sheboyganites will be able to enjoy alcoholic beverages in the streets this summer.
Last week, Sheboygan’s Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety Committee approved a temporary Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) for select dates during the 2026 8th Streatery event series in the downtown area.
The DORA, a designated area allowing for the carrying and consumption of open alcoholic beverages, will be in effect every Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning on June 9th and ending on August 11th.
The DORA will begin at the intersection of South 8th Street and South 9th Street, running north to the Center Avenue intersection.
During the 8th Streatery event series, only establishments inside the DORA with liquor licenses will be selling alcohol, including Trattoria Stefano, Il Ritrovo, Local Press Eatery, Legend Larry’s, GM’s, Sly’s, and Umi Sushi & Steakhouse.
After a unanimous approval by the Licensing, Hearings, and Public Safety Committee last week, the matter was approved by the Sheboygan Common Council last night (May 18th).
