WOMT radio has a new top-of-the-hour news provider.
Town Hall News has taken over for CBS Radio News after last month’s announcement from CBS ending its radio news service this Friday (May 22nd).
Townhall News is part of the Salem Radio Network and will provide news at the top of each hour on WOMT, like CBS, however, they will not have a World News Roundup at 7:00 a.m.
That means each WOMT newscast will begin at five past the hour each hour from now on.
CBS News says its radio news is signing off due to “how people are getting their news increasingly from social media, and the challenging economic realities.”
They signed on the radio back in 1927, leaving them just shy of 100 years.
