The Manitowoc County Civil War Round Table will be celebrating Memorial Day early this year.
The organization and other community volunteers will be out at Evergreen Cemetery on Thursday (May 21st) to continue the yearly tradition of cleaning off veteran grave sites.
This year, however, the group will be expanding its operation to include all veterans buried in the sprawling cemetery, not just those from the Civil War and earlier.
There are eleven granite monuments, four benches, and a few plaques in particular the group plans to clean with soft brushes, soft soap, clean water, and a bit of elbow grease.
Those looking to help are asked to be at the Manitowoc County Veterans Memorial at 9:00 a.m.
Additionally, at noon, the group will be replacing the flower pots with new beautiful blue pots, fresh potting soil, new flags, and flowers.
