The two people charged in the death of Elijah Vue are both returning to court today (May 18th).
40-year-old Jesse Vang and 32-year-old Katrina Baur will be back in Manitowoc County court.
Vang has a motion hearing, while Baur just has a scheduling conference. Both face charges after Vue’s remains were found in the Town of Two Rivers in September 2024.
Vang is charged with physical abuse of a child, repeated acts causing death, hiding a corpse, resisting an officer, and chronic child neglect.
Baur is charged with chronic child neglect, the consequence is death, neglecting a child, and two counts of resisting or obstructing an officer.
A criminal complaint alleges that Baur was bringing the 3-year-old to Vang’s apartment to teach him “how to be a man” and to “correct his bad behavior.”
The complaint also says that Vang tried to donate a suitcase to St. Vincent de Paul in Two Rivers that had Elijah’s remains a day before the toddler was first reported missing in February.
