Local organizations teamed up to support our local veteran community.
American Legion Post 477 – St Nazianz held its annual Tee It Up Fore Troops Golf Outing yesterday (May 14th) at Autumn Ridge Golf Course, raising thousands of dollars to support Old Glory Honor Flight.
At the event, golfers, veterans, and volunteers gathered together with a shared goal: raising money to send veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit the memorials built in their honor.
Seehafer Broadcasting collected community donations over the past several months in an effort to increase the total amount raised as much as possible.
Thanks to the outpouring of support from listeners, readers, and those looking to help.
Seehafer Broadcasting’s Vice President Terry Stevensonhad the privilege of presenting Old Glory Honor Flight Executive Director Diane MacDonald with the check.
While addressing those in attendance, Stevenson said, “On behalf of Seehafer Broadcasting, Seehafer News, and WOMT 100, we want to give this check of $13,145 to Old Glory Honor Flight.”
MacDonald says she loves attending events like Tee it Up Fore Troops.
“It never gets old. Never, ever,” she said. “We’ve been doing this since 2009 by honoring and thanking our veterans, and we owe it to the community for us to be able to do that. Without the community’s support, we’d never be able to do these special projects that we’re able to pull off.”
Meanwhile, Autumn Ridge Golf Course co-owner Chad Harrington also loves hosting such an important event.
Emotionally, Harrington said, “It’s an unbelievable privilege. I am so honored to be a part of this event. My father and father in law were both served in Vietnam. We were able to take them on one of the missions on September 11th of 2024. And I learned more about my father’s experience in one day than I had learned in 55 years.”
Yesterday’s outing marked the fourth Tee It Up Fore Troops event Autumn Ridge has hosted.
All proceeds raised through the event will directly fund sending veterans to Washington D.C.
