Five strokes separated the top four teams in the sixth EWC golf meet of the season.
Schools in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference met at Town & Country Golf Club in Sheboygan Falls, where the host Falcons earned the win with a 28 over par 172.
Brillion was right behind them with a 175, one stroke better than the Chilton/Hilbert co-op, and two strokes better than New Holstein.
The battle for 5th place was quite tight as well, with Valders’ 183 one stroke lower than Two Rivers, two strokes better than Kiel, and three better than Roncalli.
There was also a five-way tie for the top spot individually, as Gunner Wiginton of Valders, Sheboygan Falls golfer Sam Bast, Quin Krueger and Parker Spierings of Brillion, and New Holstein’s Kyle Lisowe all carded a 5 over par 41.
Keeping with the theme, four golfers scored a 42, four more had a 43, and four more shot a 44.
Ben Gates of Two Rivers was one of the golfers in that last category, leaving him in a tie for 13th, while Roncalli’s best golfer was Carter Kilbride, who shot a 45, giving him sole possession of 17th place.
The same teams will battle it out at the 18-Hole EWC Championships next Wednesday (May 20th) at Quit-Qui-Oc Golf Course in Elkhart Lake.
