Manitowoc County police departments will again honor the fallen officers.
The annual Peace Officer Memorial Service takes place this afternoon (May 13th) at 2:45 p.m. between the Manitowoc County Jail, Law Enforcement Memorial, and Manitowoc County Courthouse.
It’s part of National Police Week as a way to remember Manitowoc County peace officers who gave their lives in service to the community and to stand with those who continue to serve with courage, commitment, and willingness to put themselves in harm’s way.
Seven fallen officers in the county will be recognized for their sacrifice, including three Manitowoc Officers, two police officers from Two Rivers, a Manitowoc County Sheriff’s deputy, and a Marshal from Kiel.
The event will also include a wreath-laying and will end with taps.
