Several schools in the middle of outstanding seasons were recognized in the latest release of the MaxPreps high school top 25 state rankings.
In baseball, the Kewaunee Storm, 19 and 0 heading into play Tuesday (May 12th), is ranked third in Division three. Brillion, winners of 17 straight, are ranked eighth, Random Lake is 20th, and the New Holstein Huskies are ranked 25th.
Meanwhile, undefeated Kiel (14-0) was not listed in the D-3 top 25 but is ranked ninth in the Green Bay Metro Max Preps poll, which are rankings given regardless of division.
The Reedsville Panthers are ranked 13th in Division Four, with Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah ranked 18th, and Sevastopol comes in at number 20.
In Division Two, Seymour checks in at number nine, Denmark is 16th, and Notre Dame Academy of Green Bay is ranked 17th.
FRCC leader Bay Port is ranked second in Division One, with Kimberly and Hortonville third and fourth, respectively, and the De Pere Redbirds checking in at number 14.
In Girls Softball, Brillion is ranked fourth in Division Three. Southern Door is eighth, New Holstein is ninth, Wrightstown is twelfth, Valders is 18th, Kiel comes in at number 21, Kewaunee is 23rd, and Oconto is ranked 25th.
Chilton (28) and Mishicot (33) barely missed, cracking the top 25.
In Division Four, Random Lake is ranked 14th, and Algoma is 18th. Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah is ranked 16th this week in Division Five.
In Division Two, defending state champion Denmark is ranked fifth, Luxemburg Casco is 8th, and Plymouth is ranked 22nd.
The Division One poll has Green Bay Preble coming in at number three, and Ashwaubenon is ranked 25th.
In Girls Soccer, Kiel is ranked 5th and Manitowoc Lincoln 12th in the Green Bay Metro poll, while the overall rankings list Kiel 23rd.
De Pere checks in at number 20 with several other schools listed just outside the overall top 25.
