The teen charged with a shooting outside of a Manitowoc bar has gotten a new lawyer.
Attorney Brandon Zegiel will represent 16-year-old Nicholas Antonio in his attempted homicide case in the future after circulating a stipulated order for a substitution.
Judge Robert Dewane set the case for another status conference on June 25th, giving Ziegel enough time to get the discovery from Antonio’s attorney, who was representing him.
The 16-year-old was arrested at a friend’s house on 7th Street after Manitowoc Police were called to Replay Bar on Madison Street in February after a 30-year-old man was shot.
A criminal complaint says it was the boyfriend of Nicholaus’s mom who was hit after he and Antonio fought over a gun that was pulled out of the suspect’s coat pocket.
Antonio is charged with attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide, 1st-degree recklessly endangering safety, intentional pointing of a firearm, battery, disorderly conduct, and possession of a weapon by someone under 18.
