
A crash in Calumet County claimed the life of one motorist.
Lieutenant Joseph Tenor with the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highways 57 and PP in the Town of Chilton just before 11:15 Monday morning.
The preliminary investigation indicates an SUV was traveling west on Highway PP and had stopped at a stop sign.
Meanwhile, a dump truck was traveling south on Highway 57 when the SUV pulled out in front of it.
The 39-year-old man from Shawano who was driving the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 72-year-old Luxemburg man driving the dump truck was uninjured.
The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of the families, and the crash remains under investigation.
The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Hilbert Fire Department, Potter Fire Department, Gold Cross Ambulance, and Hilbert-Potter First Responders.
