Officials in Sheboygan are looking to hear from residents to help keep city streets safe.
The City is currently in the process of developing the Sheboygan Transportation Safety Action Plan, which aims to address safety issues across all aspects of the transportation system.
As part of this development stage, Sheboygan will be hosting Safety Days today (May 12th) and tomorrow (May 13th), where the City and interested residents will be performing walk and bike audits at eight specific locations.
Today, the audits will be done in the areas of the Pick n’ Save bus stop, Uptown Social, Deland Park, and 3 Sheeps Brewing.
Tomorrow, the audits will take place at Paradigm Coffee & Music, the Mead Public Library, Downtown (North 8th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue), and the Sheboygan County YMCA.
The purpose of these audits is to evaluate safety conditions and the experience of those walking and biking throughout the community.
Results gathered today and tomorrow will offer insight as it relates to the ongoing development of the Transportation Safety Action Plan.
