An engineering team from Valders High School performed very well during a competition at Road America.
They competed in the High Mileage Competition last week, putting their design and engineering skills to the ultimate test. Out of everyone in their conference, Valders placed 1st and 3rd in the overall competition against 30 other teams.
The Valders Area School District congratulated the students for their classroom work that went to the track.
The district continued saying the students “proved that precision and innovation pay off, and they’re proud of the hard work they put into building and fine-tuning their vehicles to compete against the best in the state.”
The high-mileage event focuses on maximizing fuel or battery efficiency, with Valders achieving a maximum of 235 mpg.
