Another Manitowoc Lutheran track and field relay record was broken over the weekend.
One week after the Lancers’ 4×200 relay team set the new high mark, Ben Harrison, Isaac Wagner, Isaiah Muchka, and Brody Wieting broke the school’s 4×100-meter relay record.
The time of 44.65 seconds knocked off a record that had stood for 27 years, and helped lead the Lancers to another 1st place finish for the boys at the Hilbert Invite.
In fact, the boys nearly doubled the next closest team.
Also earning first-place finishes were Trenton Schuettpelz in the 110 and 300 hurdles, Tristan Hulse in the shot put, Wagner in the long jump, and Muchka in the triple jump, along with the 4×200 and 4×400 meter relays.
As for the girls, they finished 4th, led by sophomore Isabella Eick’s first-place finish in the 800m run and junior Eva Manzano in the triple jump.
The Lancers girls’ 4×800-meter relay also took first place.
The Lancers will be back in action next Monday when they participate in the Big East Conference Meet at St. Mary Catholic High School.
