The Sheboygan County Warming Center will soon have another tool at its disposal to help those in the community experiencing homelessness.
Street Angels, a Milwaukee-based nonprofit organization, operates Showers of Hope, a mobile shower trailer that aims to offer those experiencing homelessness dignity, kindness, and connection.
While operating mostly in the Greater Milwaukee Area, the Showers of Hope often made trips to Sheboygan to serve individuals in need here locally.
However, Street Angels and the Kohler Company have partnered together to bring a new, permanent shower trailer to the Sheboygan area.
The second Showers of Hope trailer will be operated by the Sheboygan County Warming Center until May of 2027.
After that, the trailer will be available to expand into additional counties throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
An exact debut date in Sheboygan is not available at this time, but Street Angels said on Tuesday (May 5th) that it can be expected “any day now.”
The Sheboygan County Warming Center added that it has been waiting for the trailer’s arrival for five months and is thrilled to welcome it soon.
