A former Chilton resident is going to prison for a child sexual assault material case.
Chilton Police Chief Jason Kvalheim says 25-year-old Dylan Cochenet was sentenced to 16 and a half years of initial confinement followed by 22 years on extended supervision after pleading guilty to five counts of child sexual exploitation, five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, misappropriating an ID, and two counts of causing a child 13-18 to view sexual activity.
The investigation began after Chilton police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about child sex abuse materials being transmitted.
Investigators identified, tracked, and arrested Cochenet in the City of Kiel.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office also assisted in serving a search warrant at a separate location related to the 25-year-old’s case.
Chief Kvalheim reminds parents of the dangers posed by internet predators, adding that the case is an indication of the deeply disturbing content and actions taken by offenders online.
