Two Manitowoc County schools will participate in an annual energy competition in Oshkosh.
Mishicot and Valders High School students will join 11 other schools in the 30th annual Wisconsin Public Service Solar Olympics competition, which takes place this morning (May 6th) from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Students will try to earn bragging rights through a unique, hands-on tradition as they demonstrate what they know about solar energy.
Students go for gold by testing solar-powered machines, solving solar-themed challenges, or creating items inspired by solar energy in 13 different events.
Winners will receive either a gold, silver, or bronze medal, while the top three contestants overall will be recognized at the end of the competition.
The Valders High School team looks to continue its streak of winning gold at the Solar Olympics, as it has in years past.
