Bond has continued for a woman who skipped her competency hearing in a Manitowoc County weapons case.
42-year-old Amy E Duerwaechter, now of Sheboygan, was present for a bail hearing yesterday (May 5th) on a return on warrant after missing her court hearing on Monday (May 4th).
During that bail hearing, Court Commissioner Jewel Scharenbroch continued Duerwaechter’s $2,000 signature bond and removed the warrant after she made arrangements following her miss.
This comes as the 42-year-old faces one count of First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, two counts of Intentionally Pointing a Firearm at a Person, and Disorderly Conduct.
These charges stem from an incident that occurred in April of last year in the 1600 block of Galax Drive.
The Manitowoc Police Department was called to the area on a weapons complaint, where they learned that Duerwaechter had fired a gun in the air while telling someone to leave her residence.
Video surveillance also showed that Duerwaechter chased the person out of her home and pointed the weapon at the victim.
Other conditions of her bond that were also continued include no contact with the victim and not possessing any dangerous weapons.
She will now return to court for her competency hearing on May 15th at 11:00 a.m. in Branch 2.
