A Manitowoc man was arrested yesterday after he attacked police and workers at a local nursing home.
The Manitowoc Police Department was called to Rivers Bend on South Rapids Road just after 10:00 p.m. on a report of an intoxicated resident who had threatened staff.
The officer arrived to find the man on the floor of his room.
When staff tried to help him up, the 71-year-old man reportedly tried to punch them and cursed at them.
It was learned that the man was free on bail for a previous case where he allegedly threatened a court official, which required him to maintain absolute sobriety.
When the officer attempted to place him into custody, the man reportedly continued to spout obscenities and resisted being placed into a wheelchair.
He was eventually placed in handcuffs and was wheeled out in a wheelchair, during which he reportedly told police, āIām going to get you guys.ā
He is now facing charges of Resisting an Officer and Felony Bail Jumping.
