Sentencing is being ordered for a Sawyer County man convicted in the death of his girlfriend’s daughter.
The 4-year-old child suffered from severe cerebral palsy and was on a feeding tube.
At the time of her death, the child, who died of ethanol toxicity in 2021, was found to have a blood alcohol level of more than seven times the legal driving limit for an adult.
Domenic Falkner previously pleaded guilty to charges of physical abuse of a child and chronic neglect of a child resulting in death and has now been sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
The girl’s mother, Samantha Smith, was previously also sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted in the case.
