A Manitowoc man facing charges related to a recent assault is set to appear in court.
35-year-old Kyle J. Huybers will be inside a Manitowoc County courtroom today (May 4th) to make his initial appearance in front of Judge Anthony Lambrecht.
This comes as Huybers faces one felony charge of Aggravated Battery, Intending Great Bodily Harm, and a misdemeanor count of Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, both of which carry repeater modifiers.
Last week, the 35-year-old was given a $15,000 cash bail on request from the state, noting the severity of the incident, which is said to have occurred on Thursday (April 30th).
Very few details are available regarding Huybers’ case, however, he was ordered to have no contact with the victim.
This is not the 35-year-old’s first run-in with the law, as he has been convicted of numerous other crimes in Manitowoc County, including 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Entry into a Building or Construction Site, and Felony Bail Jumping, which were taken into account by Judge Luke LeFevre when setting his bail.
As of this morning, he is still in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail as his cash bail remains unfurnished.
