A competency hearing for a Manitowoc woman who claimed to worship the “Saint of Death” has been pushed back.
CCAP documents show that Judge Jerilyn Dietz didn’t have enough time to get to the competency hearing of 49-year-old Blanca Perez-Hernandez because it would be like a trial with testimony and arguments.
The matter was rescheduled for May 6th at 8:30 a.m. Perez-Hernandez faces two charges of 1st-degree reckless injury after an incident involving two vehicle owners in January last year.
Manitowoc Police were called to a residence on a report of multiple stabbings.
A criminal complaint alleges that Perez-Hernandez was seen taking license plates from vehicles, claiming that “Santa Muerte” had gifted her “all the cars in the trailer park and in the world.”
After the rightful owners confronted her, the suspect allegedly brandished a kitchen knife and slashed one person and attempted to stab another.
This is Perez-Hernandez’s second time having a competency hearing.
