An arrest has been made after a Fond du Lac infant, less than two months old, suffered serious injuries.
The case opened on March 17th, when the Fond du Lac Police Department was informed that a 52-day-old infant was transported to Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee with multiple rib fractures, a clavicle fracture, and a throat injury requiring surgical intervention.
Detectives worked with Child Protective Services throughout the investigation, which led them to a 25-year-old man.
While his name has not yet been released, the man was taken into police custody on Tuesday (April 28th) on a charge of Physical Abuse of a Child, Reckless Causation of Bodily Harm.
Fond du Lac Police Lieutenant Nick Hahn said of the case, “Our Detectives, Officers, and partner agencies have worked tirelessly on this case from the moment we were notified. Our focus remains where it belongs, on the safety and well-being of this child. We are committed to following every lead, every fact, to ensure accountability and to protect the most vulnerable in our community.”
