The Manitowoc Lincoln baseball team was able to hold off a late comeback attempt by De Pere in an FRCC showdown.
The Ships hosted the Red Birds at Bruce Steinbecker Field, where there was plenty of offense early.
The Red Birds came out of the gate swinging, plating a pair of runs before the Ships got off the field.
Undeterred, Nick Braun, Noah Blaser, and Gabe Eichman took advantage of their opportunities and drove home 5 runs between them.
The Red Birds would tack on one run each in the 4th and 6th innings, but another RBI by Eichman and one from Cade Grapentine were enough to secure the 7-4 win.
Bennet Johnson earned the win on the mound in his six innings of work, while Eichmann came on to close out the game, striking out the side in the 7th.
With the win, the Ships improve to 7-5, and 5-3 in the FRCC.
They will be back on the road on Thursday when they travel to West De Pere.
