The Manitowoc Lincoln girls’ track and field team is continuing to show dominance early in the season.
The team was in West Bend for the Spartan Invitational Friday night (April 24th), where they not only won the meet, they outscored the next closest team by 41 points.
As a cherry on top, the 4×800 meter relay of Natalie Portmann, Ava Bierman, Emily Rabitz, and Norah Free set a new school record.
They finished with a time of 9:49.04 seconds, which is 8 seconds faster than the record set last year by Bierman, Free, Breanna Jansky, and Tessa Campbell.
That time is also the 3rd fastest in the state for this season.

Multiple runners also earned silver medals, including the 4×400 meter relay team of Abby Gebhart, Biermann, Khloe Jalbert, and Calla Eichmann, which posted the 10th fastest time in the state so far at 4:11.36.
As for the boys, they finished 10th out of 12 teams, while Menomonee Falls took home the team win.
The Ships’ top individual finisher was Lucas Gallegos, who set a new personal best in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:00.59, good for 3rd place.
