It is another busy day in local high school sports.
BASEBALL
There are several high school baseball games scheduled for this afternoon.
In the FRCC, Manitowoc Lincoln continues a stretch of four of five games at home as they welcome the De Pere Redbirds to Bruce Steinbecker Field.
It’s been an up and down year for De Pere as they’ve been hovering around .500 in the first half of the year.
Prior to last Friday’s game against Sheboygan North, they’d lost four of their previous games and ARE in a battle with several teams, including Manitowoc Lincoln, to stay within striking distance of FRCC leader Bay Port.
The Ships look for a third consecutive win and their fifth in eight conference games as the first pitch is scheduled to be thrown at 4:30 p.m.
Other FRCC have Sheboygan North entertaining Ashwaubenon, Bay Port hosting West De Pere, Notre Dame travels to Green Bay Preble, and Pulaski heads to Green Bay Southwest.
In the EWC, Valders will visit Roncalli, Two Rivers hosts Sheboygan Falls, Kiel plays at New Holstein, and Brillion goes to Chilton.
The rest of the baseball schedule Luxemburg Casco entertains the includes Kohler/Sheboygan Christian hosting Lomira, Howards Grove heads to Omro, Denmark plays at Freedom, and Luxemburg-Casco entertains the Wrightstown Tigers.
SOFTBALL
Just a few girls’ softball games of interest where a very good Valders team plays at Kewaunee, and Kiel hosts Cedar Grove/ Belgium.
GIRLS SOCCER
Roncalli/Two Rivers hosts Valders, New Holstein ventures to Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian heads to Green Bay to hook up with Providence Academy/Green Bay New Lutheran, Green Bay West is home for Clintonville, Sevastopol/Gibraltar plays at Sturgeon Bay, and Wrightstown is home for Ashwaubenon Jaguars.
CO-ED TRACK AND FIELD
Manitowoc Lincoln competes against Ashwaubenon, Green Bay Southwest, and Sheboygan North at North, while Mishicot, Reedsville, Howards Grove, Elkhart Lake/Glenbeulah, and St. Mary Catholic travel to Hilbert.
BOYS GOLF
The third EWC Mini Meet of the season will be played at Hickory Hills in Chilton. Tee time is 3:00 p.m.
