A recent fundraising effort in Sheboygan has been deemed a major success.
The United Way of Sheboygan County held their first ever Dolly Dance Party last weekend at Paradigm Coffee and Music, aiming to raise money to support childhood literacy.
Throughout the event, $3,565 was raised to benefit the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which was recently introduced to the Sheboygan community.
Through the Imagination Library, children up to five years old can receive one free book every month until their fifth birthday.
Breaking down the amount raised, the United Way of Sheboygan County explained that the $3,565 is enough to sponsor one year of free books for approximately 111 children in Sheboygan, or roughly 1,371 books.
The United Way was grateful for the support they received from donors and the event’s host, noting, “Paradigm Coffee and Music is a shining example of how giving back and supporting local causes can also be a good time! We are so grateful for your support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library here in Sheboygan!”
