Multiple organizations, including Progressive Lakeshore People in Manitowoc County, are joining together to give a presentation on ICE and data centers.
Progressive Lakeshore People and the Bail Out the People Movement are hosting an event in Sheboygan tonight at Jake’s on Ontario Avenue beginning at 6:00 p.m.
A second event will be held tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Manitowoc.
Both will feature National Corporate Researcher Ric Urrutia, who will provide a presentation focused on corporations and political power structures.
Specifically, the interlocking corporate and banking interests of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and data center owners pose grave dangers to family farmers, the environment, workers, and communities.
Progressive Lakeshore People Organizer Jill Iverson says that while the county is moving forward to try to pass a moratorium on data center development, citizens need more information about the issue.
