
A plea deal has been reached for one of the four people charged in a child malnourishment case in Outagamie County.
51-year-old Melissa Goodman will be pleading no contest to charges of False Imprisonment and two counts of Chronic Neglect of a Child.
The exact details of the deal have not been made public, but they will be addressed at Goodman’s plea hearing on May 6th.
The charges were filed after a 14-year-old girl was found severely malnourished and suffering from organ failure.
The victim was said to weigh only 35 pounds at the time of her rescue.
Also charged were Walter Goodman, Melissa’s husband and the father of the victim, Melissa’s daughter, Savana LeFever, and LeFever’s partner, Kayla Stemler.
Walter is due for s pretrial conference on May 28th, LeFever has her pretrial conference in June, while Stemler is set to go on trial in August.
