Marilyn (Mare) Y. Peterman, age 90, of Manitowoc, died Monday, April 13, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish – Marshall Site in Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
Survivors include three sons: Jeffrey (fiancée Stace Stone), Mark (Jacqueline) and Steve “Pee-Wee”, all of Manitowoc; three daughters: Debra (Patrick) Dietrich, Kristen (John) Zipperer, all of Cato, and Nancy (David Niles) Peterman of Milwaukee; daughter-in-law Michelle Peterman; 12 grandchildren: Katlyn Mulvaney, Stephanie (Zachary) Stewart, Kurtis (Danielle Butz), Lindsey (Ryan Balliew) Chimileski, Jeremiah (Jaimie) and Dylan (Cassandra) Dietrich, Justin, Lexie, Sarah Litel, Elizabeth, Casey (Emily Faber) and Gretchen (Brady Devalk) Zipperer; 24 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Dorothy Peterman; several nieces, nephews, relatives, special neighbor Adeline Hebert, cousin Lenore Olson, childhood friend Joanne Reedy, friends Jack and Bonnie Kretsch and so many more – Marilyn would name you all.
She was proceeded in death by one son Michael Peterman, one brother Dennis Shimek, grandparents Charles and Ella (Ellestad) Prochnow, one uncle Eli (Delores) Prochnow, one aunt Lillian (Frank) Karlin, father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Anna Peterman, three brothers-in-law Lester, Francis, Allen (Carol) Peterman, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Dolores and Victor Berger.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to Lakeshore Humane Society, 1551 N. 8th St., Manitowoc, WI 54220.
