Sheboygan’s Bookworm Gardens is preparing for the opening of the 2026 season.
The 2026 season at Bookworm Gardens is set to open on May 1st, with this year’s theme focusing on “Small Acts, Big Impact.”
This theme is inspired by the butterfly effect and is intertwined into the gardens’ activities and programming, highlighting that simple moments or actions can have a lasting and profound effect.
On the 2026 season, Bookworm Gardens Executive Director Elizabeth Wieland said, “Bookworm Gardens strives to be a place where small joys and little pleasures are seeded and given space to take root, for both the residents of Sheboygan and ALL our visitors from across the country! The activities planned for our 16th season are designed to highlight the far-reaching effects of seemingly minor moments.”
Kicking things off this year will be a new adult lecture series called “Should I Plant This In My Yard?” beginning on May 7th, with three sessions available throughout the month.
However, the first major event will be a Mother’s Day Celebration on May 9th and 10th, inviting families to take a stroll through the garden, while moms will receive free admission and a potted plant while supplies last.
