The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Flood Watch for Manitowoc County and a majority of east central, northeast-north central, and central Wisconsin from 1 p.m. Friday (tomorrow) until 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
Additional counties included in the Flood Watch are Kewaunee, Calumet, Winnebago, Outagamie, and Door.
Another round of potentially severe thunderstorms is expected to arrive on Friday, bringing widespread rainfall of one-half to an inch-and-a-half, with locally higher amounts of 2 to 3 inches possible Friday afternoon through Friday evening. This will fall on already saturated ground.
Other potential hazards include large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes. This will create excessive runoff, which may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying, flood-prone areas.
Those living in areas prone to flooding should prepare now to act should flooding develop, and everyone is encouraged to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
Meanwhile, areas of widespread dense fog may redevelop later tonight and persist through Friday morning.
Reduced visibility is expected, especially along Lake Michigan, where motorists may not be able to see more than a quarter mile ahead.
