A suspect wanted in a Waunakee home invasion is dead.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office says the 45-year-old man died by suicide Sunday night.
This comes just two days after allegedly breaking into an ex-partner’s home and holding her against her will.
The victim was able to escape on Sunday and called the police, leading to a police chase that led to the suspect crashing and running into a field.
A couple of hours after the chase started, deputies explained that the suspect shot himself in the field and died at the scene.
