A storage unit building in Grand Chute caught fire over the weekend.
The Grand Chute Fire Department was called to 5530 West Neubert Road at 6:00 Sunday morning after a passerby noticed the building was on fire.
Additional firehouses were also called to assist.
It was learned that a man was in his rented unit when the fire started. While he did escape, the man also suffered injuries that required he be transported to a local hospital.
The fire was extinguished in around 20 minutes.
The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time, and no damage cost estimate has been released.
One of the units was heavily damaged by the fire, while two or three suffered some fire damage, and six to eight others were damaged by the smoke.
The Grand Chute Fire Department was assisted at the scene by fire crews from Appleton, Center, Fox Crossing, and Greenville, as well as the Grand Chute Police Department, Outagamie County CERT, and WE Energies.
