For the Appleton Police Department, 2025 was another positive year.
APD has released its Annual Report for last year, highlighting what they described as a productive and community-focused 12 months.
The department received 65,000 calls for service in 2025, with traffic stops being the most frequent.
Appleton Police have noted that, last year, they continued the trend of reducing overall crime in the city, with crimes against people down 19% since 2020 and crimes against property down an impressive 42% in that same time frame.
The City’s most frequent crime last year was assault, with 744 in 2025; however, that is still down roughly 10% from 2024, and 20% since 2020.
Crime types in Appleton seeing a significant decrease in 2025 compared to the previous year include burglary, larceny, fraud, and grand theft auto, although, most notably, for the first time since 2021, Appleton experienced zero homicides in 2025.
Despite these solid reductions, crimes such as kidnapping, sex offenses, human trafficking, drug offenses, and child pornography related offenses all saw upticks last year.
However, APD’s 2025 Annual Report is not all about the numbers and shares substantial insights on all areas within the department, including training activity, the K-9 unit, the school and community resource units, and how fiscal resources are administered.
